SurfSignal simplifies forecasts for kitesurfers, wingfoilers and surfers
No need to be an amateur meteorologist. Set what works for you once, and let SurfSignal keep watch for the next session window.
SCHEVENINGEN, THE NETHERLANDS, [PUBLICATION DATE]. For people whose time on the water depends on the conditions, planning a session often means repeating the same analysis day after day: studying charts, comparing weather models and interpreting changes in wind, gusts, swell, waves and tide across multiple spots.
Yet most users are looking for the same signals each time, and a promising session can still be missed when the opportunity is spotted too late.
SurfSignal turns that routine into a one-time setup. Users add their preferred spots anywhere in the world and define what suitable conditions mean to them. The app then checks forecasts up to ten days ahead and clearly shows where and when those conditions are expected to match.
An optional daily notification, delivered at a fixed time chosen by each user, keeps users updated on upcoming opportunities without constant checking or random notification noise. Closer to departure, live wind measurements and spot cams provide a final check.
Simple on the surface, advanced underneath
SurfSignal uses advanced weather models selected by location, prioritising spatial resolution and model update frequency. This allows SurfSignal to use the most relevant available forecast data for each configured spot across different countries and regions.
The live station network supports near-global coverage and allows users to check live measurements from multiple stations close to their spots.
Making forecasts beginner-friendly
For beginners, forecast charts can be difficult to interpret, making it harder to recognise when conditions are suitable for a lesson. Schools and instructors can share their preferred spots and lesson conditions with students, allowing SurfSignal to turn that local expertise into a clear view of upcoming lesson windows. Students can then be notified in advance, helping them stay engaged and schedule or reschedule lessons without having to analyse the forecast themselves.
Built from the routine behind every session
After more than 11 years of kitesurfing, kitefoiling, wingfoiling, surfing and SUP, SurfSignal founder Sebastiaan Dalmeijer was still repeating the same process before every session: checking forecasts and looking for the same patterns across different spots.
As the number of sports, locations and equipment setups grew, that routine became increasingly time-consuming, while suitable sessions could still be missed when conditions were spotted too late.
That frustration became SurfSignal: one setup that replaces the repeated forecast routine and brings the next matching session into view early enough to act. Less time analysing. Fewer missed sessions. More time on the water.
Early users receive SurfSignal Super free for one year
SurfSignal will introduce a paid Super tier later in 2026, while keeping its core experience free. Everyone who downloads SurfSignal by 30 September 2026 will receive all SurfSignal Super features free for 12 months from the date the new tier launches.
The offer rewards SurfSignal’s early users with the complete experience for a full year, while the permanent free version will continue to provide the app’s essential value.
Your spots. Your conditions. Know when to go.
